I am a Palestinian from Gaza. I am a journalist. I am a mother. I am a Muslim. This blog is about the trials of raising my children between spaces and identities; displacement and occupation; and everything that entails from potty training to border crossings.
My husband is a Palestinian refugee denied his right of return to Palestine, and thus OUR right to family life.
Together, we endure a lot, and the personal becomes political. This is our story.
ok, I'm pathetic, but I just had to post about this: Noor rolled over by herself today!! I'm so proud of my little girl, she's growing up at 3 months! Next thing I know she'll be off to college!! aah!
ah mash Allah , it s very nice it s true a baby change very quickly my daughter will have hers 3 years the next month and i don t see the time spend ... lol kiss to Noor and Yusuf.
NO - you're NOT pathetic ... I know how you feel, have been there!
ENJOY EVERY MINUTE ... it really feels that you'll turn around a few times and they're off to college! My guys are in their twenties ... and I can't grasp where the years went - I vividly remember the moments I held them for the first time!
That is not pathetic in the least; being this far away, not knowing you or your children, I actually smiled and felt a trifle excited at the thought. I can only conceive your own elation. =)
It's already been said, but this is far from pathetic! It is what life is all about.
And if it was pathetic, I guess my entire blog would be pathetic too!
Greatly enjoying your blog. Please keep up the writing, including the day-to-daythings like this. I think some poeple over here (in the UK) need to see Gaza as more than just the terrible headlines; see more the people and lives behind the headlines in detail. And your blog is great at that. Best regards Steve
