Gaza or bust
We're beginning our journey back to Gaza tonight-but first of course we have to fly in to Cairo; from there I will make a brief detour to Doha where I will be attending the *gasp* launch of Aljazeera International on November 15 (yes, finally!).
More as we go.

Thank you for the Darwish. I only know Qabbani's poetry but am reading Darwish Memory for Forgetfulness.

Wish you a safe and pleasant trip home, and please post all details of Al-Jazeera International launch after your return from Doha.
They made us wait for it really long!
(too bad I don't have tv right now...)

Looking at some of the posts on the Darwish piece, I wonder if it is time to turn on Comment Moderation.
Such a pity when people use a public medium for gratuitous insults.
Dear Leila,
All the best for you and the baby during your trip back to Gaza.
I am really sorry for what has happened there. I wish we could do something significant...
Dear Laila
All the best for your journey back, and thank you for your blog entries on Gaza + all the nice ones from Norway. I'll be tuned in to the Al-Jazeera launch tomorrow :o)
There was a very nice interview with you in a Norwegian newspaper after you left. I'll scan and send it to you.
And of course we are all angry and sad about Gaza. I very much agree with you that all of humanity is affected by this in one way or another....we cannot simply turn the blind eye and say that it doesn't concern us. I look forward to reading your blog from Gaza when you get there!
Dear all: thank you for your touching comments. I just now realized I had comment moderation turned off and was not being notified of the comments, so I just now read them! thank you and apologies!
And of course-while I will not be able to attend the actual launch because of the visa problems, i still hope to make it there by thrusday!so will u posted inshshalah
